Privacy policy
How we handle your information when you visit our website or get in touch.
Last updated: 14 September 2026
Who is responsible
Glossynet Ltd is responsible for personal information collected through this website and enquiries sent to us. If you have a privacy question or want to exercise your rights, email privacy@glossynet.com.
This policy covers the Glossynet website, initial business enquiries and career introductions. Products such as Sawia have their own privacy policies. Client engagements and contractor relationships may require separate notices.
When you visit or get in touch
You can browse without creating an account. When you email us, we receive your email address and any information you choose to include, such as your name, company, project requirements and availability for a call. Please don't send passwords or sensitive personal information in an initial enquiry.
Our hosting provider may record the pages you visit, your browser and network address (IP address), and when you visit. This helps keep the website working and protect it from misuse.
We use the information you share to reply and discuss how we can help. We rely on our legitimate interests in handling business enquiries and keeping the website secure. If you ask us to prepare an agreement with you, we also use your information to take those steps. We may need to keep certain records to meet legal obligations.
When you introduce yourself for work
If you contact us about engineering opportunities, we use your introduction and any CV or profile links you share to understand your experience and discuss a potential fit. Please only share information relevant to that conversation. We'll ask before sharing your profile with another organisation.
We keep your introduction for the discussion. If we agree to stay in touch about future opportunities, we'll also agree how long to keep your details. You can use the privacy contact below to ask us to remove them.
Understanding website use
We use Plausible Analytics to understand which pages people visit, how they find us and whether they follow links to contact us or explore Sawia. This helps us improve the website. We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding and improving how the website is used.
The reports include general location and device information, but not your name, email address or messages. Plausible does not use analytics cookies or track you across websites. It processes and stores this information in the European Union.
These analytics are on by default. You can switch them off through Privacy choices at the bottom of any page. This stops future collection from this browser without limiting your access to the website. Read Plausible's data policy to learn more.
Cookies and your choices
When you save your privacy choice, we use a cookie to remember it for 180 days. This cookie is only used to respect your choice, not to track your activity.
We don't use advertising cookies. Visit analytics, when active, do not use cookies. You can switch them off without limiting your access to the website.
You can change your choice through Privacy choices at the bottom of any page. If you clear cookies or your saved choice expires, you may need to switch analytics off again.
Who can access your information
Our website hosting and email providers handle information needed to deliver their services. People authorised to handle enquiries at Glossynet may also access your message. We may disclose information where the law requires it. We do not sell enquiry information.
Glossynet operates from Kenya and works with organisations in other regions. Information you send may be accessed in Kenya or processed where our service providers operate. Contact us for details about the providers and safeguards relevant to your enquiry.
If you book a call, Calendly handles the booking and shares your details with us so we can arrange the meeting. You can read Calendly's privacy notice before booking. Other websites we link to, including Sawia, have their own privacy policies.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiries for as long as needed to respond and manage the discussion. If you become a client, relevant information becomes part of our client records. How long we keep it also depends on legal record-keeping duties and whether it is needed to resolve a dispute.
Website visit records are kept according to our hosting provider's retention arrangements. You can contact us to ask how long we keep information you have shared.
Your rights
Depending on the law that applies, you can ask to see or correct your information, have it deleted, limit how it is used or receive a copy you can transfer elsewhere. You may also object to certain uses. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it.
Some rights have exceptions. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
Contact privacy@glossynet.com to make a request. You can also raise a concern with Kenya's Office of the Data Protection Commissioner, the UK's Information Commissioner's Office or the data protection authority in your country, as applicable.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change. The date at the top shows the latest revision. If we introduce a new purpose that requires consent, we will ask again.
